Dr. Jelena King is a licensed clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist with over 20 years of clinical experience in the public mental health system. Dr. King has been a staff psychologist at St. Joseph’s Healthcare, Hamilton since 2007 and holds a full-time academic appointment as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University. Over the course of Dr. King’s clinical training and professional work, she has integrated academic pursuits and teaching into her clinical practice. Dr. King places high value on the integration of evidenced based practice and science-informed care as guiding principles in her clinical and teaching practice. Dr. King’s therapeutic approach is CBT, interpersonally, and trauma informed, and she is actively involved in interpersonal psychotherapy supervision and teaching within her academic program.

Dr. King obtained her Ph.D. in 2005 from the University of Waterloo and completed a clinical internship at Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care and a postdoctoral fellowship in the Schizophrenia Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and Psychiatry Department, University of Toronto.
