Level A Training Completed: 11/30/2022

I work with clients across the lifespan, and am passionate about supporting people who range in age from early childhood through adulthood. My background in child psychology informs my work with adults as well, as I am always considering how a person's developmental path and early relationships have shaped them.

In therapy, I strive to bring empathy and humor to the process. You can expect me to be curious about and accepting of your experiences as I support you in actively working towards change. I am sensitive to issues related to disability, immigration, foster care, adoption, and non-traditional forms of family building, and welcome all to my practice.

Style & Approach

I help clients to understand the underlying reasons for their behavior, process past and present experiences, accept themselves, and learn how to better manage distress. Therapy will always involve spending the time to build a trusting relationship. We will talk about your experiences, identify areas of strength and concern, learn new skills, deepen understanding of self and others, and build resilience. For younger clients, therapy may also include playing, creating stories, and drawing. I collaborate with clients and their families, schools, and medical teams when it is appropriate to do so.

Areas of Expertise

I provide evaluation and consultation for third party reproduction, as well as psychological evaluation for immigration cases.

With children, adolescents, and families, I provide evidence-based therapy for issues related to depression, anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation, attachment/bonding, sleep issues, stress, identity development, parenting skills, immigration and acculturation, and relationships with others.

With adults, I provide evidence-based therapy for those facing issues related to depression, anxiety, trauma, insomnia, stress, and family & relationship dynamics. I specialize in supporting people who are managing the joys and challenges that can come along with the transition to parenthood. This includes perinatal depression and anxiety, fertility challenges (including grief and loss), difficulties within caregiver-child relationships, experiences as a foster or adoptive parent, experiences with the NICU or high-risk pregnancy, and being the caregiver of a child with developmental difficulties.

My style in therapy is relational and my training includes:

attachment-based treatment
psychodynamic / insight-oriented therapy
specialized training in maternal mental health and reproductive psychology
Interpersonal Psychotherapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), including:
Trauma-Focused CBT (trauma treatment for children/families)
