Dr. Banks is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist who has been in private practice since 1999. Until 2014, she was the Senior Reproductive Psychologist at the University of California San Diego Department of Psychiatry, Maternal Mental Health Clinic, Intensive Outpatient Program for Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders.
 
Educationally,  Dr. Banks earned Dual Bachelor Degrees in Psychology and Music from St. Olaf College in Minnesota.  After earning a Ph.D. and M.A. in Clinical Psychology with a Health Psychology/Behavioral Medicine Emphasis from the California School of Professional Psychology in San Diego, CA, she completed a Pre-doctoral internship at the Scripps Clinic Medical Group and Research Foundation in La Jolla, CA and a Post-doctoral Fellowship in Pain Rehabilitation and Biofeedback in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Medical University of South Carolina. 
 
Dr. Banks has presented published research and has been a guest speaker at numerous National and International conferences.  She has been an adjunct faculty member and graduate level instructor at CSPP and Chapman University.  She is a member of the Post-Partum Health Alliance of San Diego. 
 
Outside of the office, Dr.Banks enjoys being a musician, spending time with family, and river fishing.
