Rachael Ambler is a clinical psychologist who has almost two decades of clinical experience, and has been working in her own private practice since 2002. She has a Master of Clinical Psychology degree; is a member of the Australian Psychological Society’s Clinical College of Psychologists; and is an endorsed specialist clinical Medicare provider.
Rachael specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of psychological problems affecting individual adults and adolescents. These issues may include depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, grief and bereavement, and relationship issues. She has a special interest in helping people who have experienced trauma. Rachael always strives to provide her clients with a warm and caring environment in which they feel safe and accepted. She utilizes Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy, Schema Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Eye movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing therapy, Clinical Hypnosis; Psychodynamic Oriented Therapy, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy. Rachael has also completed the Supervisor Training and Accreditation Program (STAP), and is qualified to provide clinical supervision. She also regularly facilitates group therapy courses and weekend silent retreats.
Rachael is married with two teenage daughters and one very indulged dog. She enjoys playing netball, dancing, reading, and being involved in church and her children’s sporting activities.
