Dr. Christopher earned her PhD in 2010 from the University of New Mexico. During graduate school, she worked as a Research Assistant at the Center on Substance Abuse and Addictions where she learned Motivational Interviewing and assisted with research into the effective delivery of MI and its mechanisms of effectiveness. She spent over a decade working at the VA where she was a Subject Matter Expert and Master Trainer for the VA's National MI Training program. Dr. Christopher also has extensive experience in Women's Psychology and women's trauma. She developed a Women's Mental Health Program for the VA's Southwestern Region and delivered IPT for Women's Reproductive Mental Health. She served as a National Trainer in IPT for Women's Reproductive Mental Health. She is currently a Fellow at the IPT Institute International.

Dr. Christopher lives in Santa Fe, NM with her partner, their horse and two dogs. She aspires to someday retire (not anytime soon) and play jazz guitar all day.
