She completed her undergraduate education in Faculty of Medicine of Cumhuriyet University and her psychiatry residency in Faculty of Medicine, Atatürk University. She conducted her academic studies in the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, Ataturk University from 1998 to 2013. She currently serves in Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Psychology, Üsküdar University, İstanbul. Her studies are mainly focused on neuroscience, perinatal psychiatry and interpersonal psychotherapy. She conducts her studies on perinatal psychiatry as coordinator of Üsküdar Mother Baby Mental Health Center. She is representative for Turkey to International Marcé Society and Postpartum Support International. She is also the president of Interpersonal Psychiatry Association, in Turkey since 2013. She is actively working for introducing this therapy model to physicians, psychologists, social workers, obstetricians and nurses that are a part of the health team and to ensure that relative professionals are able to implement this model when required.
