About Event

MI is an evidence-based intervention that helps clients resolve ambivalence and move toward change. MI has been used effectively for a wide range of issues including substance use and health behavior change. MI can be used in a variety of health and mental health settings and is appropriate for use by a wide range of health and allied health professionals.

Workshop participants will learn the basics of MI for general use and will be fully equipped to utilize MI with patients at the end of the course.  This MI training course is open to all interested clinicians at any level of training.   The course includes an overview of MI theory but is primarily focused on learning and mastering the direct clinical application of MI using interactive exercises as well as video reviews and discussions of MI techniques and strategies.

We’ll also discuss how MI can enhance the use of directives within IPT

All participants will receive an MI certificate upon completion of the course.

All participants will also be eligible to continue with MI and/or IPT supervision if desired.
