The Disclosure Timeline:
Using an Interpersonal Framework to Support Gender Diverse Clients through Transition

thursday June 15, 2023 15:00- 16:30

SESSION DESCRIPTION

In this workshop participants will get a brief overview of the tenants of gender affirming care and discuss recommendations for adaptions to IPT for Gender Diverse clients. This will include exploratory questions to include when doing the Interpersonal Inventory and introduction to a new clinical tool called the Disclosure Timeline

The disclosure timeline specifically outlines a strategy for individuals who are disclosing their gender identity to important people in their life to maximize support and enhance interpersonal skills. Clinical vignettes will be used to demonstrate the implementation of these clinical interventions. Participants will be encouraged to consider broader implementation for the disclosure timeline and will have an opportunity to practice the use of this tool by breaking into small groups and role playing the activity.

The session will include interactive discussion and participant role playing as well as observations of experts demonstrating supervision techniques.
