IPT Intermediate Training

   (One Day)

Intermediate Training in IPT is open to mental health clinicians and students who have completed Level A Training.  The course is the recommended 3rd step in Community-Based Certification.  Clinicians should have started consultation calls (step 2) and should be treating clients with IPT when they take this training course.

Intermediate Training is designed to thouroughly cover the structure of the Middle Phase of IPT and to integrate IPT techniques into sessions.  Participants will master Communication Analysis, Role Playing, and other IPT techniques as well as decision making about when to conclude treatment.

The clinical emphasis of the course includes review and discussion of experts conducting IPT, review of specific examples of IPT tactics and techniques, role playing, and interactive work in small groups.

Participants should read Interpersonal Psychotherapy: A Clinician's Guide (2nd Edition) prior to the training.

IPT Intermediate Training is the recommended third step for Community-Based Certification in IPT.  7 hours of CE credit from the APA are available.

The IPT Intermediate Training Course is typically scheduled from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM
