IPT Community-Based CONSULTANT Training and Certification in IPT

Community-Based Consultant Training and Certification has been developed specifically for practitioners who wish to become consultants in the IPT Community-Based Training Program.  Consultants are certified to conduct IPT supervision with groups of therapists within their agencies.  Consultant Training requirements are:
 
COMMUNITY-BASED CONSULTANT TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION IN IPT

PREREQUISITES

  • Completion of IPT Community-Based Therapist Certification

  • Nomination by an IPT Community-Based Consultant

  • Continued clinical work using IPT

 

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

1) Completion of Level B Research Therapist training (2 individually supervised IPT cases)

2) Completion of a Supervisor Training Course

3) Co-leadership of one complete consultation group with a certified IPT Consultant or Supervisor

4) Supervision of 2 independently conducted consultation groups with submission of portfolios for each.

    The portfolio must include:

     a) Case Report of the IPT group consultation

     b) Self-Evaluation Form for supervision

     c) Monthly consultation with an IPT Supervisor for each group

     d) Ratings of portfolios of 2 consultation group members from each group

     e) Evaluations of the consultation from all group members

5) Completion of a one day Advanced IPT Supervisor Course at least every 3 years
